Hardstaff Barriers, a multi award-winning company which specialises in vehicle restraint systems (VRS) on highways, urban and rural settings, as well as being a leading provider in HVM and perimeter security, took part in the F4N programme in an effort to expand its work in the nuclear industry.
Hardstaff Barriers has been granted Fit For Nuclear (F4N) status by the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) after demonstrating its commitment to working in the nuclear industry. F4N is a unique service to help UK manufacturing companies get ready to bid for work in the nuclear supply chain.
The scheme lets companies measure their operations against the standards required to supply the nuclear industry – in new build, operations and decommissioning – and take the necessary steps to close any gaps.
The company’s barrier products have already provided edge protection and delineation for nuclear construction projects, including Hinkley Point C.
Hardstaff Barriers prove it’s now Fit For Nuclear projects Hardstaff has also provided hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) protection at major existing nuclear infrastructure sites, such as Sellafield. Available as both temporary and permanent solutions, Hardstaff’s HVM systems, perimeter fencing, concrete security barriers and access gates are designed for one reason: to keep people and property safe.
Kathryn Cooper, Service Manager, at Hardstaff Barriers, said: “Being granted F4N status is a real honour and we’re delighted to be a part of the programme. Our team have worked extremely hard to make this happen. As we move forward, our F4N status can give our clients peace of mind and maximum assurance that we are a high quality, safety-focused solution provider.”
Kevin Ross, F4N Industrial Advisor for East Midlands and South Yorkshire, said: “Hardstaff Barriers bring something very different to the Nuclear Supply Chain and we’re very pleased to welcome them to the collection of Fit 4 Nuclear companies. Communications and staff involvement projects were a particular credit to the business, and I look forward to helping them continue their F4N journey.”
