Asset Drilling Rig

Alongside this main safety benefit, the Asset Drilling Rig (ADR) also ensures that drill holes are all at consistent depths ensuring any known service ducts under the surface are not disturbed.

Fitted with a powerful vacuum system the ADR also minimises debris left on the road surface during drilling. Debris is collected as the unit travels along the barrier and can be disposed of safely at the works depot or designated on-site areas.

The ADR also integrates a personnel unit which includes toilet facilities and additional storage for equipment or work wear.

Alongside directional lighting, the unit also carries an electricity generator and air compressor unit to assist with all eventualities during product installation.

Zero Hand Arm Vibration during barrier installation

The collaboration between the TM teams at Costain and the Asset VRS operations team, resulted in 2,800 m of Zoneguard being drilled and fixed to an N2 W2 specification in an 8-hour shift. Resulting in the full install being one week ahead of schedule.

• Zero Hand Arm Vibration – When using the Asset Drilling Rig there is zero Hand Arm Vibration. This is beneficial as HAVS is serious and disabling. Damage from HAVS can include the inability to do fine work.
