Project overview:

Incursion Defender was trialled during Costain’s major refurbishment and strengthening project on the A12, Eastern Avenue. On behalf of Transport for London (TfL), they were delivering a complex roadworks scheme on the Gallows Corner Flyover, involving multiple access points, high traffic volumes and ongoing interaction with the public.

With safety and access control a priority, Hill & Smith Infrastructure’s Incursion Defender was deployed at a key access point as part of a one-month trial. The objective was to assess the product’s effectiveness in maintaining site security while delivering robust vehicle incursion mitigation and prioritising safety for both the workforce and vehicle occupants.

The trial enabled Costain to evaluate Incursion Defender in a live, complex environment, determining its suitability for dynamic construction sites.
