Project overview:

Hill & Smith Infrastructure was appointed by RH Traffic Management to support a complex programme of verge works at a busy live site in Liverpool, where maintaining operational control around pedestrians and site activity was critical.

Delivered across four distinct quadrants within a constrained urban environment, the scheme required careful coordination of work areas, pedestrian routes and traffic interfaces. Public access could not be removed, meaning the programme relied on clear planning, adaptability and close collaboration between all parties to maintain clear routes and well-defined work zones as works progressed.

Our role was to support RH Traffic Management in delivering a controlled, phased programme of works, providing a solution that could be deployed, adjusted and managed reliably across multiple areas at different stages of the scheme.

Working in partnership with the client, we supported delivery using our MASS Barrier system, selected for its ability to clearly delineate work zones and maintain consistent separation within constrained verge and roadside locations, while remaining practical to reposition as site layouts evolved.

Success on the project was defined by progress across all quadrants and the ability to maintain continuity as layouts evolved. The scheme demonstrates Hill & Smith Infrastructure’s role as a delivery partner on complex, live-site projects, where coordination, responsiveness and on-site decision-making are essential.
